What Does The Bible Say About Heaven?

There Are Four Simple Steps To Go To Heaven

Mankind has always tried to complicate the basic truths of God’s Word by inserting their own philosophy into it. The fact of the matter is that God does not want anyone to perish, but wants everyone to come to salvation. What does God’s Word have to say on the matter?

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life.”

I John 5:13

1. Everyone Is A Sinner

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

The reason we “come short” of God’s glory is because we are not perfect. We have all sinned. “All” includes you and me. The first step toward knowing what the Bible says about Heaven is recognizing that no one is perfect.

2. No One Can Escape The Penalty For Sin

Romans 6:23a“For the wages of sin is death.”

Death is a natural part of life, but eternal death is the penalty (or wage) for our sin. Another term for this type of death is “the second death.”

Revelation 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

The second step is understanding that your sin comes with a price and that price is death in a place called Hell forever.

3. Someone Paid For Your Sins

Romans 6:23b “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

That Someone is Jesus Christ. Although sin brings eternal death, God provided a way for us to receive eternal life. Notice that eternal life is only obtained “through Jesus Christ.” It can not be achieved through being a good person, going to church, or being baptized.

4. Everyone Can Be Saved

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Jesus died for everyone’s sin, but not everyone is on their way to Heaven. You must personally receive God’s gift of eternal life. You must believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and ask Him to save you.

If you would like to trust Jesus as your Saviour, simply bow your head right now and humbly:

  1. Admit to God that you are a sinner.
  2. Tell Him you believe that Jesus died for you.
  3. Ask Him to forgive your sins and save your soul.
  4. Believe that He promised to save you.
